We fund the system, work with local water-treatment specialists to install it, have the water tested, and then keep paying for the servicing. That last part is what makes it work, and it is the part most people forget.
Children in three SOS programmes drink water from purification systems the Foundation has provided — in Crete, in Vari outside Athens, and at an SOS children's home.

About twenty people are there every day, children and staff. Water is drawn at three points: two outside the children’s rooms, and the kitchen where their meals are prepared. Systems were fitted there once. They are old now, and the orphanage says plainly that they need replacing.
What is missing is the money — for the equipment, and for the servicing that has to follow it every year afterwards.
In Neos Voutzas, Attica, children have lived as families in small houses since 1967. In September 2026 the home accepted our offer in writing: water filters in the houses the children live in, with regular servicing and support.
We have an agreement with The Smile of the Child, one of Greece's best-known children's charities, to bring the same clean drinking water to children in their care.
The start was postponed, and the project will resume as funding allows. We would rather say that plainly than let an agreement look like an installation.
Both are conversations, not installations. We will say so until they are not.
The need for water children can trust did not stay in Greece, and neither will we. We are working with SOS Children's Villages in the United States, beginning in Florida, and talking to children's homes and shelters closer to our office in New Jersey.
