The real story behind our vision
Yiannis was just 10 years old when he faced a moment that would change his life forever. Sailing across the vast Atlantic with his father, the ship’s captain, an unexpected accident left their vessel without drinking water—four scorching days from the nearest port.
With only one gallon of water per person under a blazing summer sun, 25 souls, including families and crew, endured fear, thirst, and helplessness. In those long, dehydrated hours, young Yiannis learned a truth that would shape his heart forever: water isn’t a luxury, it’s life.
When they finally reached Lagos and paid a high price for precious water, he overheard his father whisper a wish:
“If only I had a way to bring clean water to every person on earth...”
Seven years later, Yiannis’ father tragically died at sea. But his dream didn’t die with him.
In April 2020, Yiannis made a promise real. He founded the Aqua Africa Foundation, a tribute to his father’s wish, and a mission to bring clean, safe water to every child, every village, every life in need.
Our Purpose
We once wished there was a magical way to bring clean, fresh water to every village every person, so no one would ever suffer from its absence again.
We may not have magic, but we carry something just as powerful: knowledge, compassion, and an unshakable will to help.
With hearts full of purpose, we offer everything we can to those who need it most.
Our journey begins in Africa and the USA.
In Africa, the need is overwhelming. Many communities face each day without hope or access to solutions.
In the USA our home despite its strength and resources, far too many children and elderly still lack access to safe water.
We exist to close this gap.
To remind the world that clean water is not a privilege, it’s a right.
And to make sure, wherever we go, no one is left behind.
