USA – Low-income families with children living in high risk areas
cause description
The levels of lead in Newark, New Jersey’s drinking water are some of the highest recently recorded by a large water system in the United States. The elevated levels end up causing health risks that mainly affect low-income families. Last September, a brain-eating amoeba was found in 8 cities in Texas. We want to ensure tap water will stop being a threat to our local community.
Our scope is to install RO filtration systems in households and facilities where low-income families with children leave and spend time during the day. Our goal is to help 10 families by the end of February and 100 by the end of 2021.
